Introducing Monthly Editions April 17 2016
In a departure from the traditional fashion cycle, Chorus are pleased to announce Monthly Editions, a new mode of practice that will see the release of a single, made-to-order outfit each month.
With the desire to offer customisation and allow for a more sustainable production system, Chorus Monthly Editions provide a considered wardrobe for the contemporary woman who seeks courageous design within flexible clothing. The traditional working wardrobe of pants jackets and shirts will be explored and redefined to become pieces that enhance the individual and take them effortlessly from work to leisure and beyond.
Each new edition, made in Melbourne, Australia, will be launched with a two week ordering window, with delivery to the client within 5 weeks.
The first outfit showcases the Hashtag Coat, Pant and Shirt, each style offered in two colour ways. The amplified version, for the brave woman, features an energetic print by designer Maria Montes. At once figurative and botanical, the print explores contemporary society’s fascination with ‘selfie’ culture and conditions of oversharing. Printed in Melbourne on a bamboo base it offers soft drape and breathability. Its subdued counter part is cut from black lightweight Italian virgin wool, and the shirt from Italian cotton poplin with a subtle check. The coat, pant and shirt all feature squared off design lines, an abstract reference to the ubiquitous hashtag.
The April outfit will be offered for order online as of April 20th, with orders individually cut and made, no additional stock will be produced, so it is exclusively within this two-week order window, closing 4th May, that clients can secure their piece. Those in Melbourne have the opportunity to view samples in person at Carlton boutique
Milly Sleeping (157 Elgin St, Carlton), where we will take over the windows for the two-week sales duration.
